WAM Get Involved
WAM Get Involved was set up in 2014, to promote greater Community Involvement across the Royal Borough. The team works across Windsor Ascot and Maidenhead to build capacity within the Voluntary Sector with regular Information, Consultations, Networking Meetings and Workshops eg Safeguarding and Management.

Maidenhead Synagogue (information provided by Barbara Grossman)
The Maidenhead Synagogue is based in Maidenhead and comprises over 850 families with people coming together from all over the South East including Southampton and East London. It is a social cultural community centre with religious services and strong emphasis on education. The Synagogue has a Kosher shop and library which has extended to two rooms.
The pandemic has seen some positives within the community, with members living further away or in poor health able to ‘participate’ in social & cultural events, as well as watch services; new friendships made; practical help offered & received by people linked through the Telephone Tree; offers to ‘entertain’ given willingly; improved communication and network groups re-established.

The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) was launched in 1981 by founding members Karnail Pannu, Fazan Awan, Dr Jonathan Romain, Peter Hudson and Dr Mike Bruton. Its primary aim is to strengthen understanding, mutual respect and trust between the different faiths within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Windsor and Eton Rotary Club (information provided by Paul Bayley)
Windsor and Eton Rotary club are running their first community ‘Service above Self awards’, one allows charities to bid for a grant of £500, the second allows individuals or organisations to nominate somebody for Volunteer of the Year.
