TVP Food Academy: Could you inspire or mentor young wives / mums?
Thames Valley Police, with the help of funding from the Army Covenant, are running Food Academy courses in the Windsor Area. The courses are designed to improve the lives of young people / adults. Some courses are for young wives / mums, who are feeling insecure and unsupported in the community. Each course runs for 8 weeks, with a 3 hour session each week.
We are looking for is volunteers to come along and mentor, support and assist these young wives / mums. Lots of young girls who get married to army personnel have to leave their family homes where they grew up and all their support networks. Many of them have never had to survive on their own and some surrogate mum type figures would be really useful.
