I’m delighted to share an new opportunity for you to join a movement celebrating women, and one that enables people of all ages and fitness abilities to participate. Step Up is our brand new ‘virtual’ event, where you can pledge to cover 50 kilometres or 100 kilometres over eight weeks from Friday 10th January through to International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March. Once you start the challenge, you can track your steps through walking, running, dancing or however you wish, and work towards a fundraising target of £50 or £100. As you progress through the challenge, you will unlock virtual badges, marking your accomplishments, as well as audio stories of pioneering women to keep you inspired. For example, when you reach 100% of your fundraising target – you can listen to actress, writer and comedian Aisling Bea reading the story of the visionary computer scientist Ada Lovelace!
Our new event will let you take physical steps alongside stories of women who took the first steps for change. It’s the perfect challenge for the New Year, and we would LOVE for you to get involved and help us spread the word.
All you need to do is register for FREE using the link below. You can join on your own, or you can collaborate with friends, family members or colleagues and create a team! https://stepup.refuge.org.uk/
We are aiming to recruit 400 Step Up supporters and raise £40,000 to support the work of Refuge, so here’s to the next eight weeks!
