Get Into Retail with M&S

Taster Day: Tuesday 4th September 2018, 10pm – 4pm

Address: M&S, 12 Broad Street, Reading, RG1 2BH

Course Dates: Monday 10th September – Friday 5th October 2018

Address: M&S Stores in Reading, Maidenhead and Bracknell

Age Range: 16 – 25 years old

This is an excellent 4 week programme for young people aged 16 to 25 who are unemployed but work-ready and interested in a career in retail and gaining employment with Marks and Spencer. We will pay for all their travel costs and lunch during the course and it won’t affect their benefits.

To summarize this course includes:

  • Work experience in an M&S store or M&S café with regular feedback and support
  • Expert customer service, teamwork, interview, communication and leadership skills training specifically designed to give them an edge in their career
  • The opportunity to explore different job roles within M&S to find out what suits you best by working in the food, clothing, warehouse, delivery and stock checking departments
  • Paid employment contracts available upon completion of the programme with ongoing support and guidance from Prince’s Trust

Get Started in Health and Fitness with Luke Hayter Fitness

Taster Day: Wednesday 12th September 2018, 1pm – 4pm

Course Dates: Monday 17th – Friday 21st September 2018

Age Range: 16 – 25 years old

This is a fantastic course for young people who are interested in starting a career in the Health and Fitness industry. The young people will learn valuable fitness coaching, teamwork and communication skills with the course being delivered by an expert in the field of Personal Training, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation who will teach the young people how to perform exercises in the gym and outside safely and will also provide career guidance on how to progress in the Health and Fitness Industry.

During the course the young people will have full access to all the exercise facilities at Montem Leisure Centre and will be able to use the gym equipment in a safe environment. Upon completion of the course the young people can continue their training in Health and Fitness with further courses or pursue employment opportunities and apprenticeships

To summarize this course provides:

  • All travel expenses paid for, lunch provided and it won’t affect your benefits
  • Explore and develop the skills needed to work in the Health and Fitness sector with an expert in personal training, physiotherapy and rehabilitation in a state of the art facility
  • Self-launch your career online through your own website and social media

Prince’s Trust Team Programme

Course Dates: Tuesday 25th September – Friday 14th December 2018

Age Range: 16 – 25 years old

If you join Team, you’re in for a treat.

Working with up to 14 other young people over 12 weeks, you’ll kick start with a residential trip to get to know everyone a bit better. Later down the line, you’ll also make a difference in your community by taking on your own project. From regenerating a garden to creating a short film to inspire people to make a change, you’ll do everything from planning, fundraising and rolling up your sleeves to get the job done.

In addition to this, we’ll help you with your CV and interview skills to help you get ahead. Gaining a nationally-recognized qualification along the way, you can put your new talents to the test in a two-week work experience placement.

It sounds like a long time, but it flies by. You won’t believe it’s you sharing your journey at the final presentation. Everything is geared towards giving you the best chance to move into work, education or training.
