Find out what #MovingCan do for you

The Royal Borough is encouraging residents to get up and active this summer as part of the #MovingCan campaign to highlight the physical and mental benefits of exercise.

Throughout August the council will be highlighting different activities, free taster sessions with local sports groups and the chance to win prizes.

The #MovingCan campaign is a joint initiative between health (Frimley Health Integrated Care System), local authorities and Get Berkshire Active.

Residents can get daily tips on how physical activities can benefit a wide variety of conditions ranging from diabetes and stroke risk to depression and improving sleep by following the council on Twitter and Facebook.

In the Royal Borough, we have partnered with our leisure centres, sports clubs and local businesses to offer free or discounted sports sessions. We are also bringing together a whole range of free events that are taking place across the borough in our online calendar (www.movingcan.info).

Each week of the campaign there will be a different theme with the first one being parks and gardens followed by water sports, cycling and running.

Themed weeks
